Snow Queen Hydrangea

Latin Name : Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Snow Queen’

Known as Oakleaf Hydrangea, this tall shrub is native to the southeastern U.S. It has pure white flowers that bloom in July with red-bronze fall foliage. Exfoliating bark and orange buds create winter appeal.

In-Depth Description

Native to the Florida Panhandle and Georgia to Louisiana, in damp woods and along river banks. Forms colonies from a shallow root system. Susceptible to sunscald, chlorosis in alkaline soils, and winter dieback. Many weak, brittle canes are easily broken in wind and ice.
