Beardsley Library Children’s Garden

In the summer of 2021, NWCD partnered with the Beardsley Memorial Library in Winsted, CT to install a vegetable garden for children. Four raised garden beds were installed and a variety of vegetable seedlings will be planted soon. Free educational programs, designed for children 2 – 12, about agriculture and healthy food took place every Wednesday throughout the summer. NWCD received grant funds from EPOC (Environmental Professionals of CT) to complete this project.
