White Oak is a slow growing shade tree with excellent purple to red fall color. The White oak will slowly grow into a stately rounded, irregular growth. Many forms of wildlife feed on the acorns during the fall and winter including: Red-headed woodpeckers, turkey, deer, quail, chipmunks and even ducks. It is a larval food source for a number of Hairstreak butterflies.
