This nativar is an open, upright, spreading, and somewhat rounded deciduous shrub. ‘Viking’ was developed in Sweden as an orchard plant for its fruit. Deep green foliage turns fiery red as the weather cools. Thrives even in the least fertile, roughest landscape spots.
