In-Depth Description
Pink Lady Apple, developed in Australia and released for commercial production in 1989, is a cross between Lady Williams and Golden Delicious, giving the fruit good storage characteristics and a sweet, crisp flavor. The tree has beautiful white blossoms that develop mid-season. The apples ripen to a pretty, reddish pink with small, white dots. See ‘Winesap’ for historic factoids about “healthy” fruits including apples, pears and peaches. Its fruit’s unique sweet-tart flavor with a subtle aroma of pear, melon and cider, and long shelf life makes it perfect eaten fresh or used in cooking.
