Latin Name : Ceanothus americanus

A historic native garden favorite with white flower clusters in late May which fill the garden with sweet fragrance, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, and serving as a food source for birds. Easy-to-grow and drought-resistant. Thrives in sunny, well-drained soils.

The common name comes from the fact that its foliage was used as a tea substitute during the Revolutionary War.
