Double Blue Lilac

$55.00

Latin Name: Syringa hyacinthiflora ‘Double Blue’

Color, fragrance, and reliability make lilacs such an endearing garden plant. Cool purple blooms take on a blue tone, each one full of double florets for a delicate seashell-like effect. A heavy bloomer with excellent disease resistance in an appealing shape with exceptional fragrance.

In-Depth Description

Lilacs need well-drained soil and full sun – no fewer than 6 hours a day. Lilacs were introduced to the American colonies in the 18th century by Peter Collinson, a Fellow of the Royal Society, an avid gardener, and the middleman for an international exchange of scientific ideas in mid-18th century London.
