Pink Champagne Currants

Latin Name : Ribes rubrum ‘Pink Champagne’

This is a popular currant for fresh eating as it is less acidic and pungent than red or black currants. Vigorous upright bush, free of leaf diseases, with beautiful translucent pink fruit. Easy to grow, bears fruit 1 year after planting.

 

In-Depth Description

Blooms in March and April, and fruits are ripe in July. Currants are rich in antioxidants and have a higher Vitamin C content than oranges. They prefer a pH of 6.0 – 6.5 for mature plants and will bear fruit 1-2 years after planting.
