Conservation Poster Contest

This spring, Northwest Conservation District, NWCD, will be sponsoring our first annual district-wide Conservation Poster Contest for students in grades K-12. This contest is inspired by the National Association of Conservation District’s 2026 stewardship week theme.

Students can participate by creating an original poster as an individual or as part of a group. Winning posters at the district-level will be selected from the following grade bands: K-5, 6-8, 9-12.

2026 Poster Contest Theme

For the 2026 poster contest, the theme is, “Soil. Where it all Begins”.

How can my student/class/youth group participate?

This contest is free to participate in and is open to students in public schools, private schools, homeschool programs, youth programs and individuals.

The winner in each grade band will get a $25 gift card to a local establishment of their choosing (e.g. pizza, doughnuts, etc.) and their poster may be utilized in our educational outreach materials.

One overall winner will be chosen and their poster will be utilized in one of our newsletters.

Official contest rules and evaluation rubric are attached below.
