In late summer 2021, NWCD partnered with NRCS and CT RC&D, and Berkshire Agriculture Ventures in order to aid farms with improving their soil health using cover crops. To learn more about the program, watch the video below.

Beardsley Library Children’s Garden
In the summer of 2021, NWCD partnered with the Beardsley Memorial Library in Winsted, CT to install a vegetable garden for children. Four raised garden beds were installed and a variety of vegetable seedlings will be planted soon. Free educational programs, designed for children 2 – 12, about agriculture and healthy food took place every Wednesday throughout the summer. NWCD received grant funds from EPOC (Environmental Professionals of CT) to complete this project.
